Are you currently looking for a full-time job or internship? How are you organizing your contacts? Are you using an excel spreadsheet?

At careerbyte, we created an easy Job Search CRM in Notion that you can use. Check out the template that you can duplicate in your own Notion workspace.

On the upper right-hand corner of the template, you can click Duplicate to copy the Job Search CRM into your personal Notion workspace.

What is a CRM (Customer Relationship Management)?

A CRM is a system that can help you manage the relationships of your customers. Wait, but I’m not in sales, I don’t have any customers. Well, we can treat recruiters and contacts from other companies as customers in the Job Search CRM.

In the Job Search CRM, we a column for Name, Company, Status, Priority, Email, Phone, Linkedin Profile, Comments, and Last Contact. Feel free to customize this template by adding new properties, we tried to make it as simple as possible.

Once you have duplicated the template into Notion, make sure that the view is “Table View”. Table View makes everything easier to view.

The key question is why have a CRM for your Job Search? Well, you save contacts in an excel sheet, notebook, or simply just add your contact on Linkedin.

You could treat your job search like managing a sales funnel.

In sales, there is a lifecycle of prospects where they move from a lead to a customer. Similar to landing a job position, you may have about 3-5 interviews with other companies. You have to get in touch with 10-30 contacts in order to get that full-time job. Then, this is where the Job Search CRM comes into play.

A salesperson closely monitors its sales pipeline. In this Job Search CRM, you will have statuses like “Lead, In-Progress, On-Hold, Closed, Lost”. Feel free to customize this, we wanted to make it as simple as possible.

Lead: A contact that you think will have an interest in.

In-Progress: You’re currently in touch with the contact.

On-Hold: You’re waiting for the contact to respond back or there might be a hiring freeze.

Closed: This is the best status, it means that you landed a job at that company.

Lost: You lost the connection, they could be ignoring your messages.

With this Job Search CRM, you can now organize your contacts and close your leads. Good luck on your job search!
